The Singing Society was founded in 1897 and is a member of the Nord-Oestlicher Saengerbund (North Eastern United Singers).
Music has been at the heart of Germania Park since its founding in 1895. Our Gesangverein (Mixed Chorus) proudly continues the centuries-old German tradition of choral singing while celebrating both German and American musical heritage.
Under the direction of a professional conductor, the chorus performs a diverse repertoire that includes traditional German folk songs, classical selections, holiday music, patriotic works, and popular English-language favorites. Throughout the year, the Gesangverein presents concerts and performs at Germania Park events, cultural celebrations, and special community occasions.
The chorus welcomes singers of all experience levels. Whether you are an accomplished vocalist or simply enjoy singing, you’ll find friendship, camaraderie, and the joy of making music together. No prior knowledge of the German language is required—only an appreciation for music and a willingness to participate.
